Regina Brautlacht is Senior Lecturer in English and Business Communication at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Sankt Augustin, Germany. She coordinates the English language Program in the Language Centre for the Department of Management Sciences. She develops the curriculum courses in English from the A2-C1 level in blended learning approach; lectures at the undergraduate and graduate level courses in Business English, Communication Skills, and Academic Writing.

She started her career in the USA, after graduating from George Mason University with a BA in German and International Studies and holds a Master of Arts in Educational Media from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. She is appointed by the university president as member of the Commission for Teaching and Learning since 2013; research faculty member of the e-learning project “work&study”(Federal Government Grant BMBF) since 2016; member of the Core Team Digital Teaching since 2017; Associated Member of the Centre of Entrepreneurship since 2017 and member of the German-African Entrepreneurship Project since 2015. She was awarded a digital fellowship in September 2018 for her international student online project with Canada and USA. She also received an award for her “Excellence in Teaching” in 2016 for her contribution “Competency Skills Training in a Blended Learning Format, Business English: A Simulation Course in Entrepreneurship” from her university and the Best Poster Award at the cone.eect Symposium 2015, Next Step into the Future of Entrepreneurship Education, Berlin.

She coedited a Handbook of Applied Teaching and Learning: German-African University Partnership Platform for the Development of Entrepreneurs and Small/Medium Enterprises in September 2018 with her African colleagues Daniel Agyapong and Joseph Owino, ISBN: 978-3-96043-064-3. In 2017 she published a book chapter titled: European Dialogue Project: Collaborating to Improve on the Quality of Learning Environments in Vu, Fredrickson et al. (Eds.): Handbook of Research on Innovative Pedagogies and Technologies for Online Learning in Higher Education ISBN 978-1-5225-1851-8 (393-426) as well as a chapter in 2016 entitled Using Web 2.0 Tools to Collaborate Across Borders in English in Becker, Blell et al. (eds.): Web 2.0 und komplexe Kompetenzaufgaben im Fremdsprachenunterricht, ISBN 978-3-631-65827-7 (233-250). Furthermore, she has contributed to conference proceedings for EURCALL and the German-African University Partnership. She has been actively involved in capacity building workshops in Ghana and Kenya for higher education institutions in using digital technology in teaching and learning. Finally, she has initiated several interdisciplinary projects with universities in Kenya, Ghana, USA, Portugal, Italy, and recently with Pakistan, Malaysia, and Canada.

Her areas of interest are international communication, entrepreneurship education, global project management and media didactics. Her is currently engaged in developing apps for language learning and is looking into the areas of using gamification in language learning.
