Rana Khan Mohammed Ishaque works at Algonquin College, Kuwait as English and Business Instructor for their English and Academic Foundation Program Unit.

Rana Khan holds a Masters’ degree in English Literature and Business Administration along with a teacher’s certificate in CELTA. She has extensive teaching experience. She has taught at various institutions in India and Kuwait including Kuwait University and American University of Kuwait. Currently she is engaged with the foundation program of Algonquin College, Kuwait.

She is an active board member of TESOL Kuwait. She joined TESOL Kuwait as Board Secretary in February, 2015 to promote my aim of professional development in the field of teaching English as a foreign language. She held the office for two years. She also held the office of Conference Chair, TESOL Kuwait in 2017. Currently, she is the chair NNEST (Non-native English Speakers in TESOL) a special interest group of TESOL Kuwait. She is also the Proposals Chair for TESOL Kuwait Conference, 2019. Rana Khan has also been associated with TESOL International Association as council member for Conferences Professional Council. She has been selected as a member for 2018-2020. Rana has also been involved with TESOL International as a reviewer of proposals for TESOL International Convention, 2019 to be held at Atlanta, Georgia.

Rana has also participated in various educational conventions during the past few years including TESOL International. She has presented at TESOL Kuwait conferences and, ALLT conference held in Dubai along with NTELT conference held in Istanbul Turkey. She has a keen interest in research work and is very dedicated to learn and explore more in the pedagogical field. She was also selected under a US Embassy sponsored program in 2017 to attend TESOL Convention 2017 at Seattle, for a research project – “Refuting the NEST fallacy through equality in ELT”. Her main research interests are learning management systems, CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) and blended learning.
