Niculina Nae is a professor of English at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, Faculty of Foreign Studies. She has been teaching English in Japan for over 20 years to learners of all ages and levels.
She graduated with a BA in English and Japanese languages and literatures from the University of Bucharest, and obtained an MA and PhD from Nagoya University, Graduate School of International Development.
Her teaching experience at NUCB features an array of courses on Translation & Interpreting, English Communication, Business English, English Computer Applications, Thesis Writing, and TOEIC.
She has published papers on translation, gender, teaching, and formative assessment. Her most recent co-authored paper, "Education for Sustainable Development and the 'Whole Person' Curriculum in Japan", was published in the Oxford Research Encyclopaedia of Education. In addition, she has published extensively on gender studies. Her paper, "The Plight of Women in Positions of Corporate Leadership in the United States, the European Union, and Japan: Differing Laws and Cultures, Similar Issues" appeared in February 2020 in the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law, published by the University of Michigan.
