Dr. Pritha Sanyal is an Assistant Professor- Senior Scale of English in Department of Languages, Presidency University, Bangalore, India.
Dr. Pritha Sanyal is an accomplished academician who has been in the field of teaching for more than a decade. An alumnus of prestigious institutions like University of Calcutta, Jamia Milia Islamia, EFLU and many others, she has been practising teaching more as a way of life than a profession.
Dr. Pritha Sanyal has multiple academic qualifications including a BA English (Hons),an MA in English, where her main areas of study have been British Victorian Literature. American Literature and an MPhil and PhD in African American women Studies. She has worked closely on African American women authors from the era of chattel slavery to the contemporary writers. She also holds a B.Ed. degree and a Post graduation in Teaching of English and an Advanced PG Diploma in TOEFL/TESOL. Additionally, she also has PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication. She is also a certified Business English trainer (BEC) from British Council.
She has been in higher education for almost 13 years and has also served as a Vice Principal in school. She has worked in diverse places in India and has served as guest lecturer in many reputed institutes. She has many research publications to her credit and has also received the Best paper award in many international conferences. She is a recipient of multiple ‘Best Teacher Awards’ including one from the famous Reliance Foundation and Institute of Scholars.
She has recently been recognized as the 20 Most Influential Women academician by She Inspire Magazine, India and Best Academician by Ministry of SME and Human resources. She is also a national level winner in Theatre /Dramatics and an All-India Debate champion. She is an accomplished public speaker and has been a resource person in multiple academic forums on Literature, Cultural Studies and Journalism and Mass Communication.
