Innovation in Language Learning

Petra Pfeifhofer is a teacher consultant in Ticino, in the south of Switzerland. She also works as a German teacher in the “Scuola Media”.

She is an author of German task-based course books with digitized instructional toolkits. The latest series of manuals contains a triple internal differentiation.

Petra Pfeifhofer was involved in the process of implementing the new study plan in Ticino and she still accompanies teachers in applying its principles. She also organizes teacher training courses and is involved in the admission of new teachers.

She is part of a team which monitors the quality of language learning and teaching; regular visits in language classes as well as the preparation of achievement tests are an essential part of her mandate.
Petra Pfeifhofer accompanied the development of materials according to the principles of the new curriculum. Actually she is part of a team which is tasked to revise and develop the study plan and to provide accompanying materials.
