Esther Nieto Moreno de Diezmas holds a BA in English Philology, a BA in French Philology, a BA in Spanish Philology, a BA in Law and a PhD in English Studies, and she is currently coordinator of the MA in Secondary Education, Bachillerato, Vocational Training and Official School of Languages English Teacher of the UCLM.

She has got a wide experience as a secondary education teacher for 18 years and since 2009 she is been a lecturer at the Faculty of Education of Ciudad Real (UCLM) teaching subjects such as English Language and Didactics I in both degrees in Primary Education and in Early Childhood Education; Grammar and Discourse in Early Childhood Education Classroom and Foreign Language and Didactics in the Courses of Adaptation to the Degrees of Primary Education and Early Childhood Education. She also teaches in the MA in Secondary Education, Bachillerato, Vocational Training and Official School of Languages English Teacher.

Her main line of research is second language acquisition, and specifically, policy and implementation of bilingual programmes in primary and secondary education and the development of language skills and key competences by the students enrolled in them.
Other research interests include the implementation of new technologies in education, interdisciplinary acquisition of key competences (particularly, communication in the mother tongue and in foreign languages, emotional competence, digital competence, and learning to learn competence). She was the director of an innovation project about the promotion of auto-regulation and autonomous learning in the learning of foreign languages through ICT in higher education. She has published her findings in books and journals indexed in JCR and in Scopus, is member of the international committee of the Latin American Joint Conference on Technologies and Learning (CCITA), and of the International Conference on Key Competences (UCLM).
