Rocio Martinez Espada

Rocio Martinez Espada is a Teaching Affiliate at The University of Nottingham, currently teaching Spanish language and Spanish and Latin American literatures.

Since completing her Hispanic Studies degree and doctoral courses at the University of Corunna (Spain) and a MA at the University of York (UK), she has taught at Oxford University and the Open University (UK).

Always engaged and involved in curriculum development through her teaching career, particularly the uses of new technologies, during the last few years her research and teaching interests have focused in the development of e-learning materials and the use of audio-visual resources for educational purposes.

As well as being responsible for coordinating and developing the culture section of the first modern languages NOOC (Nottingham Open Online Course) at Nottingham, she recently collaborated, as a video director, with a research project on the Spanish music genre Zarzuela, a project led by the Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies section at Nottingham.

Areas of expertise: Spanish language, Spanish and Spanish American literatures, Gender Theory, e-learning.
