Innovation in Language Learning

Dimitrios Boglou is a German and English instructor at the Language Centre of the Cyprus University of Technology and director of the CUTing Edge Makerspace Innovation Centre. His main areas of research interest revolve around technology-enhanced teaching and learning, the impact of VR in education, and leadership development. He is heavily involved in determining how to integrate new technologies into language learning courses, as well as evaluating various XR technologies and their applications for integration into various courses.

In addition, Dimitris is involved in creating various programs in collaboration with various entities in order to promote soft skills and training programmes for university students and for various other local communities.

Dimitris received his BA in German Language and Literature from the Texas State University of San Marcos,TX in 2002. In 2006, he received his MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from St.Michael’s College of Colchester, Vermont in the USA. He moved on to receive an MA in Multimedia Didactic from the Friedrich-Alexander University in Nuremberg, Germany in 2011 and a Master of Education in Practice-Based Educational Research from the University of Exeter in Exeter, UK.
