Sibel Boray Elliot

Sibel Boray Elliot was born in Istanbul, Turkey. After graduating in Italian Language and Literature at the University of Ankara’s Faculty of Language, History and Geography with a thesis on Leonardo de Vinci’s literary manuscripts, she completed a postgraduate course on Mexican Culture, History and Spanish Studies at the Autonomous University of Mexico by virtue of an academic grant from the Mexican Government. She subsequently completed a Masters degree in “Challenges for the New World Order: Peace, Human Rights, Co-operation and Development” with a graduation thesis entitled "Enlargement of the European Union,” with the help of an academic grant from the International Studies Institute in Madrid. She later completed a second Masters degree in “Immigration and Community Relations” at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
She has participated in a wide range of courses, programs and workshops relating to language teaching and has taught English, Italian and Spanish in Greece, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Turkey. She speaks six languages and is specialized in new methods for language teaching and learning. She has performed training courses for Spanish lawyers at the Bar Association of Madrid and has also trained students of the Master of International Business Administration at the Centre of Studies for Economy and Trade (CECO) –part of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) – prior to their postings at Spanish embassies abroad.
She has also been teaching at the Complutense University’s Modern Languages Centre (CSIM) for many years. In this role, she gives classes to groups of students of mixed age groups, from university students to retired professors.
Recently her investigation about Turkish onomastics and deonomastics has published by a famous editorial.
Ms. Boray Elliot is currently teaching Turkish Language and Literature at the Department of Linguistic and Oriental Studies of the Complutense University of Madrid.
