New Perspectives in Science Education

Lais Futuro is a biology teacher in the Colégio Pedro II and a supervisor in a project for teacher training in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the same University she made her studies and research. She graduated biologist bachelor and master in Genetics (2002, 2005) and as a teacher (2003). Lais experienced a variety of realities throughout the years, as teacher in a public school in a needy community as well as in privet school for a rich community, she also taught for very different ages, from little children, to teenagers, university students and in specialization courses for teachers. A Brazilian born in Germany, optimistic and enthusiastic person and mother of two, Lais loves travelling, been in the wild and sports. The everyday challenges of teaching encourage her to be a better professional and person. Lais hopes never to reach a professional comfort place, so that she can always feel the excitement of planning, studying, discovering and innovating.
