Dr. Ragnhild Lyngved Staberg is Associate Professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Teacher and Interpreter Education (FLT).

Dr. Staberg has a master’s degree in plant physiology
from NTNU. Her PhD, also from NTNU, was multidisciplinary with plant physiology/ biotechnology, mathematics and biology education. During her student days, she taught subjects in chemistry, cell biology and plant physiology at bachelor and master level at university.

Dr. Staberg has had teaching experience in biology at various level at college and university, and has held student workshops and teacher training at NTNU's Resource Centre for Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology. Since 2004, she has been working mainly in science teacher education, especially with teacher students for primary and lower secondary school. During the last years, she has been involved in teacher professional development and school based development as part of her research in science education. Dr. Staberg has also developed educational programs on Viten.no and is co-author of the book Biology for Teachers, Science in Teacher Education. Dr. Staberg has been a team member in the development of science teacher-training programs, included initial teacher training and further education for in-service teachers. She has coordinated the development of two master degrees in science education, in 2006 and in 2015, and taught and supervised master students within one of these study programs.

Since 2010 she has taken part in several EU funded projects; PRIMAS (Promoting Inquiry in Mathematics and Science education across Europe), MaSciL (Mathematics and Science for life), and FASMED (Formative Assessment in Science and Mathematics Education). Dr Staberg has been a member of the board in the National network for science education since 2009, she has been coordinator of the science department at FLT and coordinator of the team working with science teacher education at FLT. She is now work package leader in MaScil.
