Pruteanu Maria is Doctor of Pedagogy, associate Professor at the Department of Romanian Language and medical terminology of The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Nicolae Testemiteanu” of the Republic of Moldova.
Since 1989 she has been holding the course of applied Romanian language and medical terminology in groups of local and foreign students, at faculties of Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry and Pharmacology.
Between 1989 and 1991 she held the practical course for adults of Romanian language in allophone groups formed by employees of USMF “Nicolae Testemitanu” and professors of the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Technical University of Moldova.
In 2001 she took part at the Psycho-pedagogy course in the Economy Department, Management and medical psycho-pedagogy of USMF „Nicolae Testemitanu”, and in 2004 – took internal courses of Reading and Writing for the development of critical thinking. Courses were offered by Educational Center ProDIDACTICA.
In 2013 she took training courses for the teaching of Romanian as a foreign language, organized by "Babeş-Bolyai" University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, through the “Romanian Language Institute as a European Language”, of the Faculty of Letters as well as continuous training courses in “Development of educational technologies”, organized by “Agence universitaire de la Francophonie” in partnership with USMF “Nicolae Testemiteanu.”
Until 2018, she was involved several times, as organizer and member of the scientific-organizational committee, in national and international symposiums held in the Republic of Moldova and abroad.
In 2008 she presented the Ph.D thesis on "The motivation to learn Romanian medical language by the allophone students."
