Jana Poupová is an assistant at the Faculty of Science (Charles University).
She graduated in 2006 at the Department of Philosophy and History of Science at Faculty of Science (Charles University, Prague). Her diploma thesis delt with history of genetics, specifically with theories of heredity in the 19th century. In the following years she kept on studying history of genetics, this time she occupied herself with the first half of the 20th century. She finished her Ph.D. in 2013. History of science and its teaching remains her main research interest.
She is also a full-time teacher of biology and geography at a secondary school in Prague.
