Sawsan Ailabouni, leads a science-focused Theme Based Learning (TBL) pilot program and serves as a mentor of science teachers in the “Shavit” program for high achievement middle school students, at the Davidson Institute of Science Education, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science.
She is also a lecturer at the The Arab Academic College for Education in Haifa, Israel . The institution trains teachers in a wide variety of tracks and specializations.
Sawsan has completed her undergraduate studies B.Ed, at the The Arab Academic College for Education in Israel – Haifa in 2008. She continued for graduate studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science, the department of science education, and acquired her Ph.D in 2017. Sawsan's Ph.D research focused on "The impact of diagnosing teacher-made erroneous solutions, with the aid of on-line principle based feedback, on preparation for future learning". In 2015 she began to work at the Davidson Institute of Science Education.
