Ariela Baruch, head of the science teachers' professional development programs of the Teachers Unit at the Davidson Institute of Science Education, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Ariela acquired a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Department of Genetics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2000. Her research focused on the expression of a human serum albumin gene in the mammary gland of transgenic mice. After completion of her post-doctoral training and serving as a Students' Dean in a regional college, she decided to focus on science education and started to teach biology and physics at High School with a specialization in gifted students. She led at school several programs for high achieving students aiming for excellence, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship. In 2016, she began to work at the Davidson Institute of Science Education, leading the "Team workshops" program.
