Antonio-Joaquín Franco-Mariscal obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cádiz (Spain) in 2011 and now teaches Chemistry at the I.E.S. Juan Ramón Jiménez of Málaga (Spain). Dr. Franco-Mariscal’s current research focuses on the teaching of chemistry, in particular on scientific competence and educational games for secondary school students (12–16 years old). He is the author of eighty original publications in international and national journals. Since 2005 , his articles have been concerned mainly with educational aspects. He is the author of the book Teaching Physics and Chemistry with quixotic ideas (Ministry of Education and Science, 2007). He has received two awards for fostering innovation in Spanish education (2004 and 2006) and eleven research awards.
