Francesca Ugolini graduated cum laude in Forestry and Environmental Science at the University of Florence in 2003, and got a PhD in Biosystematics and Vegetal Ecology in the same university in 2013.
She has been working as a research fellow at the Institute of Biometeorology - National Research Council (IBIMET-CNR) since 2008 on research topics including soil-plant-atmosphere relationships and plant responses to water stress and environmental conditions, either in man-made or in natural environments.
Besides scientific research, she is an expert in the management of European projects, especially in the areas of science education and research. She develops didactic activities and projects regarding science and environmental education, aiming to foster youth understanding of environmental issues and awareness.
She has conducted numerous national and international collaborations, and has coordinated the organizational committees of three international conferences in the field of science and environmental education organized by the Institute of Biometeorology.
