Rany Kalouri was born in Athens, Greece. She is a Professor in School of Pedagogical and Tecnological Education (ASPETE), where she was Chairman of the department of Education for the academic years 2004-2005 and 2010-2011, and has taught at the Open University of Greece, the Université Catholique de l’Ouest in France and Frederick University, Cyprus.
She has studied Literature in Athens and holds post-graduate degrees in Psychology, Science of Education and Counseling from the University of Caen, Basse Normandie and the Institut National d'Etude du Travail et d'Orientation Professionnelle, INETOP, Paris.
In 1990 she received her PhD from the University of Caen, Basse Normandie (under the supervision of Prof. Gaston Mialaret) in Sciences of Education.
She is currently head of the post graduate program in Counselling and Guidance in ASPETE, and president of Hellenic Society of Counselling and Guidance (ELESYP), and she participates in various other scientific organizations.
Her research interests are: Science of Education, Counseling and Guidance, Educational & Developmental psychology, Education through art, Multicultural education, History of education, Education and Technology, Adult education, Life-long training and coaching.
She has published articles on professional development, education through art, psychology, education, life-long training and is author of several books.
