Iñigo Rodríguez-Arteche is a Physics Graduate and has a PhD in Science Education and a Master’s Degree in Nanoscience. His PhD Thesis is related to an initial teacher training proposal which aims to promote the use of inquiry-based methodologies in the school subjects of physics and chemistry. He currently works at the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, at Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid, Spain), where he teaches several subjects related to Science and Mathematics Education, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Computer Science.

His research focuses on inquiry-based science education at different learning levels, together with preservice primary and secondary education teacher training and pedagogical content knowledge. He belongs to the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Professional Teacher Competencies (directed by Mercedes Martínez-Aznar from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain) and collaborates with Universidad de Piura (Peru) and Harvard University (USA). In the last years, he has completed a couple of research stays in both previous universities.

He has authored a variety of publications on the previously mentioned topics and has presented many oral contributions at different national and international conferences. In addition, he collaborates as reviewer of some science education journals. At present, he is co-directing a PhD Thesis regarding inquiry-based science workshops for primary school students.
