I have a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy and Elementary Education from the University of the Aegean, Greece. I also have an MEd and PhD from the University of Southampton, UK in the field of Science education. I have worked as an elementary school teacher for several years in Rhodes, Greece, other islands as well as the Greek School of London, while also teaching and working in higher education. I have been working as a researcher and teacher at the University of the Aegean, since 2017. My field is elementary science education. My research is focused on teaching practices, bibliometrics, curricula, reform and innovation, teaching material and integration of science with other subjects. Currently I focus on the research trends which develop in science education research, as influenced by general pedagogical issues such as inquiry-based learning, sustainability as well as the role of ICT, particularly Artificial Intelligence.
