New Perspectives in Science Education

Emily McDonald-Williams is the Director of the STEM Education Program at the Desert Research Institute, providing strategy and direction for DRI’s STEM initiatives statewide. In this role, Emily leads efforts to develop and implement K-12 educator support programs aimed at enhancing the quality and quantity of STEM education in Nevada’s classrooms. Her responsibilities extend to engaging undergraduate students through impactful internships, community members through outreach initiatives, and youth through direct engagement programs. This growing program creates impactful and inclusive opportunities for STEM engagement for youth and educators of all ages. Emily’s academic expertise and professional background have allowed her to bridge the gap between education theory and practice, resulting in the successful development and implementation of innovative and inclusive STEM education initiatives
