Christina John is the Chair of Science at Marymount International School London and an IB Chemistry teacher with over a decade of experience teaching Chemistry. She is a Chartered Chemist (CChem) and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), holding a Master’s degree and an MPhil in Chemistry, along with more than eight years of research experience in Polymer Science and Technology, specialising in block copolymers and polymeric materials. Additionally, she completed three years of academic study in Neuroscience, which shaped her interest in learning, cognition, and student engagement. She also holds an MA in Education, where her research examined Chemistry self-concepts, student confidence, and their impact on academic performance among middle adolescent girls.
At Marymount, she leads research-informed Science and STEM enrichment initiatives, integrating curriculum, enrichment, and student voice to strengthen learners’ Science identity, confidence, and understanding of STEM pathways. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of Chemistry, neuroscience-informed learning, STEM identity development, and Science education leadership.
