Mehmet Evrim Altin

Dr. Mehmet Evrim Altin is Dozent and lecturer in International University of Bad Honnef (IUBH) in Germany.

Dr. Altin was born 12 June 1982 in Konya, Turkey. He finished high school in Konya and studied Mathematics at Zurich University Switzerland and later on at Salem State University in Massachusetts, in the United States. He worked as a teacher and expert in the education department of several companies in Turkey, Switzerland, the United States and in Germany. After having more than ten years working experience, Dr. Altin turned back to academic world and initially finished his Master in educational department of the Bacesehir University. Later on he continued his PhD studies at the Heinrich-Heine-University.

Dr. Altin first studied in Higher Education Administration at the Bahcesehir University and focused on the German Higher Education System. His thesis about the future challenges of the German Higher Education System was published in 2015. After a year, he started to focus on progressive education movements in his PhD in Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. Initially he analyzed Montessori and Waldorf movements and later on he focused on new progressive education movements, in particular Gülen Movement. In his Dissertation, Dr. Altin conducted an empirical study and visited Gülen inspired schools in Europe, Africa and the US. He used qualitative research methods and conducted expert interviews with school managers and scientists who have broad experience and knowledge about the subject. He focused on three important issues about the Gülen Inspired schools, such as: educational concept of the Gülen inspired schools, their global expansion and the current situation of these schools especially under the political pressure of the Erdogan regime after the failed coup attempt in July 2016 in Turkey.

In 2008, Dr. Altin first worked as a Co-Editor of a Mathematic book in Switzerland. In 2015, his Master thesis Future Challenges of the German Higher Education System was published by Bahcesehir University Press. In 2017 he presented Internationalization of the German Higher Education System, new Player in the Market in Journel of Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). In 2020 his Dissertation Internationalization through Localization: Gülen Inspired Schools was published.
