E learning: Trends and Stepping Stones.

Abstract

 

Language learning is a complex process requires knowledge of grammar patterns, specific features of lexical structures and acquiring listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. Implementation of information communication technologies, which accelerate the process of collection, accumulation, storage, processing and transmission of educational information, into higher education curricular is critical nowadays.

 

The article reflects the current trends of e-learning of foreign languages, providing insights into the process of integrating e-learning into the teaching and learning practice in the sphere of higher education. Along with this, it highlights the stepping stone if ICT incorporation in the higher education in Russia. The research examines the pros and cons of e- learning compared to the traditional classroom education. This paper includes the research on the topic of e-learning efficiency among the students of NRU HSE Nizhniy Novgorod branch. E-learning tools and techniques are seen as means of developing students’ motivation, self-tracking progress scheme and personalized learning.
