Abstract
This presentation highlights the importance of Facebook in language teaching and learning. Recently, Facebook (FB), as a homogenous-yet-heterogeneous virtual country in the seventh continent, has attained a noteworthy reputation amongst high school students and teachers. As such, FB could be a useful online tool for language learners and educators alike. This presentation hypothesizes that FB could be incorporated as an extra tool that boosts students’ writing skill. Accordingly writing is one of the very important language skills that should be given more emphasis. This area of research is of considerable interest to teachers as well as students. The teacher might use various activities that help students improve their language skill. An interview was conducted to see teachers’ attitude toward integrating Facebook as a tool of instruction as well as their attitude toward different activities that have been suggested. Some various activities are provided to different middle school and high school teachers, then their attitudes are highlighted to see their point of view toward those kinds of activities. There are two major questions that are asked to those teachers, to see their attitude toward integrating Facebook as a tool of instruction and provide us with other tangible example. After asking twenty teachers about their attitude towards the use of Facebook as a tool of instruction, it was found that 80% of teachers find it very interesting and helpful for students to improve their writing skill. Thus the activities that are suggested to them were highly appreciated
