María José Marín obtained her PhD in 2014 thanks to her doctoral thesis entitled “Identification and Analysis of the Specialised Vocabulary of British Law Reports: A Corpus-driven Study of this Legal Genre at the Core of Common Law Legal Systems”. Her areas of expertise are English for Specific Purposes (ESP), specifically legal English, and Corpus Linguistics. She has published research articles in prestigious journals within these areas such as Corpora; Procedia: Social and Behavioural Sciencies; ESP World, or Miscelánea: A Journal of English and American Studies. She has also participated in international conferences like the VII Congreso Internacional de Lingüística del Corpus (Valladolid, Spain); the 35e Colloque du GERAS (Aix-Marseille, France); or XIII Simposio Iberoamericano de Terminología, RITerm (Alicante, Spain). As part of her postdoctoral training, she has been a guest researcher at the Universities of Oslo (Norway), Portsmouth (UK) and Limmerick (Ireland).
