Nittaya Sanguanngarm

Nittaya Sanguanngarm is a university lecturer at Chiang
Mai Rajabhat University, Thailand in Southeast Asia.
Having received her doctoral degree in English as an International Language from Chulalongkorn University in 2007,
Nittaya Sanguanngarm took a position of deputy director of the Institute of Languages, Arts, and Cultures. She worked with many foreigners including Australians, Cambodians, Americans, Vietnamese and British delivering many interesting English language and cultural projects, which involved the
participants in joining in each particular activity.
During her position as a director of The International College, Chiang Mai
Rajabhat University, she was in the university administrative staff visiting some
universities in Asia and Europe, which included universities in Russia, Australia, China, and Korea. In 2012, she joined the ex-president of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University to attend Lincang-Mekong River Valley University Presidents’ Forum on Education for Regional Development and garnered international networks from the event.
After successful completion of tenure as director, Nittaya Sanguanngarm initiated
changes to bring teaching techniques into the 21st Century skills. She has been a guest speaker invited by some local educational institutes. At a local educational conference, she has been placed in her university reviewer team and also in the team that developed a Myanmar Language Curriculum with the cooperation with the University of Yangon in Rangoon and Taunggyi University in Shan State, Myanmar. The project was funded by The Office of Higher Education Commission in the year of 2012.
Nittaya Sanguanngarm is also interested in education for peace. Another topic of
her research was aimed at conversational interaction and negotiation of meaning of nonnative speakers of English. The particular language features of both verbal and nonverbal language features should be shared with the public for more cultural understanding during the interactions.
Nittaya Sanguanngarm participated and presented a ground-breaking research
article at some conferences including those conducted in The United States of America, Czech Republic, and England. In England, she was invited to be a senior reviewer at the conference during that time.
Her publication includes Teaching English in EFL Classes: Conflicting
Applications in West East Journals of Social Sciences. The other three articles consist of 3 articles, “English Trends”, “ Tourism Trends” and “ASEAN cross cultures: Diversity is Beauty ” in the seminar paper entitled “ Camp of ASEAN and the international community, the Northern Zone” held by Chiang Mai Municipality.
Areas of Expertise: higher education, English for Specific purposes, autonomous
learning, ICT based language teaching.
