Indonesia is an agricultural country with an area of agricultural land at 25 million hectares. Agriculture plays a very important field for the Indonesian economy because the majority of Indonesia's population are farmers. Although the Indonesian agricultural land can be fairly widespread but agricultural productivity is still low and still can not meet national food requirements. The problem is still the lack of human resources in terms of agricultural innovation that Indonesian agricultural products are still not fully utilized. The knowledge of agriculture should be given to students from an early age through education. In the 21st-century there are some capabilities that must be owned by the students the ability to work together as a team, problem-solving ability, ability to steer themselves, think critically, to master the technology and be able to communicate effectively. Therefore Indonesia should be changed in order to produce graduates who have the ability above. Thus, as to overcome the problems above creates a new approach to thinking about that STEAM-A. STEAM-A approach is an integration of two components i.e. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and Agriculture. Through STEAM-A student is taught the relationship between the concepts of STEAM and problems of agricultural science and processing. Learning methods in STEAM-A is to utilize the technology, science and mathematics to understand the material and agricultural science, so the students will be able to make agricultural products. The purpose of this study is to provide a new conceptual thinking about agriculture using STEAM-A. Six steps of STEAM-A are observing, identifying and planning, discussion, question and answer, elaboration and reflective. This approach is expected to help teachers, the education ministry and media for Indonesia's education strategic planning in the future.
