The flipped classroom is an innovative approach in education that "flips" the familiar model of learning by shifting the emphasis from the transmission of information by the teacher to the active role of the students. This approach not only encourages independent learning, but also supports the development of digital skills, critical thinking and media literacy.
Through the flipped classroom, learners have the opportunity to engage with educational materials at their own learning pace, which stimulates their activity and engagement. This process usually involves the use of various digital tools and resources, such as video tutorials, interactive websites, software applications, etc. It is essential that such digital tools provide learners with the opportunity to develop critical thinking and media literacy skills. Through the analysis of various sources of information on the Internet, the learners - students and adults - can exercise their skills in assessing the credibility of data, recognizing manipulations and manipulative techniques, as well as understanding the impact of media messages on society. The flipped classroom approach is an appropriate way to develop digital skills, critical thinking and media literacy among students. Through their active participation in the learning process and the use of various digital tools, this approach prepares young people to successfully face the challenges of the modern world, where digital technologies and the media environment play an increasingly significant role. The present paper aims to present an analysis of the activities completed by the team of experts from Burgas Free University in testing the intellectual outputs and developed digital tools connected with developing critical thinking and media literacy in the information society.
