Abstract
The contemporary world is characterized by numerous, diverse, dynamic, and intensified changes occurring in the political, economic, social, and technological spheres. The Third Industrial Revolution constituted a turning point in socio-economic transformations, as it introduced digital technologies that significantly changed the way human beings function. Alongside the positive aspects of the ongoing digital revolution, a number of challenges have also emerged, including a complex developmental context. This reality also poses challenges in relation to students’ competencies. One of the key competencies relevant both to the educational process and to professional life is self-management. The aim of this presentation is to describe and analyze the importance of self-management in the process of education. In the face of the uncertainty of contemporary reality, self-management may be regarded as a stabilizing resource and a protective factor that supports responsible action.
