Abstract

This paper proposes an educational model for using artificial intelligence to preserve and transmit Vietnamese Tet cultural values in secondary education. In the context of digital transformation, many traditional practices related to Tet, such as family reunion, ancestor worship, traditional food, greetings, folk games, and community memory, are increasingly experienced by students through fragmented digital content. The study aims to design a classroom-based approach in which AI tools support students in collecting, visualizing, interpreting, and presenting Tet cultural memories through digital storytelling, memory maps, image generation, interviews, and reflective writing. The research is grounded in cultural memory theory and heritage education, emphasizing that students should not only receive cultural knowledge but also become active creators of cultural meaning. The proposed method combines document analysis, student surveys, classroom projects, and qualitative analysis of students’ learning products. The expected outcome is a practical teaching framework that helps teachers integrate Vietnamese cultural heritage into Literature and interdisciplinary learning activities. The paper also discusses ethical issues in AI-assisted learning, including cultural authenticity, responsible use of generated content, and the role of teachers in guiding students’ critical understanding of tradition. This study contributes to current discussions on AI in education by shifting the focus from technology as a tool for efficiency to technology as a medium for cultural preservation, identity formation, and meaningful learning in schools.
