The Future of Education

Online learning has become increasingly popular in Vietnamese universities. In 2007, Vietnam applied a credit system (Number 43/2007/QD – BGDT from the Ministry of Education and Training about credit system regulations in Vietnam) to address the effectiveness of online training. However, the online training is not yet fully evaluated; to date only implementation and adjustment have been completed and a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of feedback from teachers and learners has yet to be carried out because teachers and learners are two important factors in the teaching process. In the process of implementing online learning since 2009, we have built an online learning system and conducted training assessment results, as well as feedback from course learners: General Informatics for students of Hue University, Applied Informatics for students of PhuXuan Non-Public University, Information Applications in Education and Office Informatics for Distance Learning students in Vietnam, and Software Engineering for Information Technology students of Hue University's College of Education. In consideration of the research credit system situation in Vietnam, we propose to apply six levels of models and some solutions to this situation. In addition, to confirm the effectiveness of online training in the form of credits, we have tested two groups: subjects learning from the traditional method and online learning method. In addition, we collected feedback data from the learners for an extended period of time and categorized by institutions, type of training, features of learners, degree of learner, name of the learner, study time, course, location. Combined with the corresponding results of the course will give us insight into the efficiency as well as difficulty in implementing online training in Vietnam.
