Using Mobile Technology to Improve Policy Reform for Inclusion of Disadvantaged Groups in Education – mRIDGE Project

Abstract

The aim of the project is the creation of digital learning resources for mobile devices to improve the educational integration of disadvantaged learners in the educational system - groups in risk whose ethno-cultural characteristics, special needs or socioeconomic status significantly restrict their ability for adequate education. In this aim, there was performed an analysis of user needs in different contexts and existing curriculum in Bulgaria and Romania, it was designed of Mobile Digital Resources (MDR) Model to support the didactic features of mobile technologies in order to adapt them to the training conditions of disadvantaged groups of people and we are in progress to design of educational scenarios for enhancing of interactivity in teaching of Roma children using mobile devices, training of learners with hearing disabilities, supported by mobile devices, using of mobile technology to expand training opportunities of people with musculoskeletal disorders and using of mobile devices for distance learning of unemployed.

In this paper we present the results in applying the new methods to children with musculoskeletal disorders with ages from 8 to 14, during teaching natural sciences disciplines.
