Dorina Zenelaj is lecturer at the European University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences and Education, Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology.
She is graduated in 2006 from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences, majoring in Social Work and was conferred the title of Social Worker. Further, in 2010 she was awarded the title of Scientific Master in International Relations, with diploma theme "Religious coexistence in Albania". In 2011 she started doctoral studies at the European University of Tirana and in January 2016 she was awarded the title of Doctor of Sciences in Sociology, with dissertation thesis “Ethics of sexual behavior among Albanian students”.
In cooperation with professors such as Prof.Dr. Fatos Tarifa, she has worked on different projects covering the field of sexual education at schools and within the Albanian families. Additionally, she is an external advisor for a number of projects and associations in Albania, in the field of sexual education, gender roles and ethical sexual behavior of young people.
Dorina has carried out several studies and attended various international conferences such as in the Second International Conference on "Interdisciplinary Studies", with the study "Social standards of peers and impact on the sexual behavior of Albanian students", "Transition in Retrospect 25 Years After the Fall of Communism, University of New York in Albania” with the study "The new sexual morality among Albanian youth" , the 3rd International Conference on Research and Education- Challenges Towards the Future, ICRAE 2015, with the study "Massivization of Albanian Higher Education: Relationship Between the Number of Students and Labor Market Demands in Albania". Other conferences include those at the University of Graz - Austria, with the study "How Democracy has Affected the Social Organization of Sexuality and Family Relations in Albania”, International Multidisciplinary Conference, (ISIS) France/ Paris, with the study “Negative media effects on sexual behavior of students”, ATINER Conference-Athens, with the study "Communication Methods of Sexual Education at Albanian Schools". She has also published some scientific articles such as in Canadian International Journal of Social Science and Education, with the study "The impact of reproductive health knowledge on the perception of sexual female behaviors of Albanian and Canadian students: Cultural similarities and differences. Ne Journal of Arts & Sciences, Canada/Toronto, with the study "Sexual Harassment Among Albanian Females”, Sociological Analysis in Albania, with the study “Sex education in Albanian schools”, in Advances In Business-Related Scientific Research Journal, Vol.5, No 1, Slovenia, with the study “Policy effectiveness for employment of young people with professional education in Albania” and EDUCATION, Vol.1, No1 with the study " Literature Review:Sexual education in Albanian schools”. She has also published two books such as:" Myth of Religious Harmony in Albania” and “Role of Social Worker in Sexual Education at Albanian schools” etc.
Areas of expertise: sexual education at elementary, high schools, training education of students on sexual education, gender roles, gender equality, new sexual ethics in the society under transition, new sexual ethics of the postmodernism period.
