New Perspectives in Science Education

Majella Dempsey is course leader for the Bachelor of Science with Education and the Bachelor of Mathematics with Education programmes in Maynooth University. Majella lectures on Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Assessment. Her doctoral research at Trinity College Dublin focused on the role of key skills in developing and promoting innovative teaching and learning environments. She is leading the FaSMEd project in Ireland on the role of technology in formative assessment in teaching and learning of science and mathematics. Majella is also involved in a research project looking at the development of Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) within initial teacher education. Majella is a member of the high-level expert group for the Amgen Foundation Science Education initiative.
