Periklis Georgiadis, a graduate of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Dept at the Univ. of Patras, with doctoral studies at the Computer Science Dept of the Univ. of Crete, has been an ICT teacher in Greek public lower and upper secondary education schools (13-18yr students) since 1992. He has been teaching at Experimental secondary education schools since 2000. Since 2011 he is the deputy principal and a member of the Scientific Monitoring Board at the Experimental General Lyceum of Heraklion. He also has long experience in vocational training, adult education and small business IT support and training, as well as a Laboratory and Teaching Assistant at University level. He has participated in books and educational software evaluation committees. He is actively involved in long life education, both as a tutor and a trainee, having instructed or having attended numerous training seminars and sessions.
He is the author of eight scientific papers in conferences on ICT and Education, and seven scientific papers in conferences and scientific journals on Databases and Information Systems.
He participated in the three-year Comenius school program "Being Young In Europe" with the Experimental Gymnasium of Heraklion and schools from Germany, Austria, Spain and Norway. Currently he leads his school team in the three-year Erasmus+ KA2 (Cooperation and Innovation for Good Practices Strategic Partnership) “Geo Future Excellence Programme (GFEP)”, together with partners from the Netherlands and Catalonia.
