Dr. Kania Greer is a Project Development Specialist with the Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education at Georgia Southern University, in Statesboro, Georgia, United States of America.

Kania came into STEM Education by way of counselor education and training. She has worked for public schools, charter schools, tutoring centers, and the state Department of Education in furtherance of education before coming to the University to work and teach.

Kania is an expert in the planning and management of interdisciplinary projects focusing in particular on the areas of STEM education and Socio-scientific studies. For the past several years she has worked with faculty from varying backgrounds and disciplines, several Universities, and many school districts to submit funded projects to improve STEM Education from kindergarten through college. She is currently assisting in the management of 6 active funded programs by working closely with the PI’s, Co-PI’s, and senior personnel to implement and evaluate programs. She is serving as PI on a state funded project in improve Elementary Teachers Math Education.

Kania also serves as a project reviewer for the University of Georgia Teacher Quality Grants. She also serves as NASA MAVEN Educational Ambassador and has recently been selected as a University Leader for the International Student Volunteer Summer Abroad Program. She is also working with University of Thailand, Bangkok to develop a teacher exchange program.

Although she came to science late in life, Kania has a love for learning and a passion for wanting to get students interested in all aspects of scientific study. Her background in the social-sciences have provided her with solid foundation in using argument and debate in a classroom.
