Sabri Pllana

Sabri Pllana is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the Linnaeus University in Sweden. Before joining the Linnaeus University, he worked for 12 years at the Research Group Scientific Computing of the University of Vienna in Austria. His current research interests include performance-oriented software engineering and self-adaptive techniques for performance portability across various heterogeneous computing systems. He studies properties of various kinds of systems (such as parallel computers or manufacturing systems) using innovative modelling and simulation techniques. He contributed to several EU-funded projects and he coordinated the FP7 project PEPPHER.


Sabri Pllana has contributed as member or chair to more than 60 program committees. In 2008 he established the International Workshop on Multi-/Many-Core Computing Systems (MuCoCoS). Sabri Pllana holds a PhD degree (with distinction) in computer science from the Vienna University of Technology. He is member of the IEEE (# 80432603), member of the European Network of Excellence on High Performance and Embedded Architecture and Compilation (HiPEAC), member of the European ICT COST Action (IC1406) on High-Performance Modelling and Simulation for Big Data Applications (cHiPSet), and member of the Euro-Par Advisory Board.
