New Perspectives in Science Education

Vincent Kuo is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering in Aalto University, Finland (formerly Helsinki University of Technology). He graduated with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, after which he practiced as a structural engineer and subsequently a project manager, in Cape Town.

Vincent's past research background involves Knowledge Management and lessons-learnt programmes in construction organizations. His doctoral endeavours at Aalto encompass analytical and data-driven methods in gauging cognitive tasks in engineering. The recent focus is on latent semantic natural language processing with applications in a variety of contexts including: structural constructability review, shipyard information management, nuclear education and training, and competence modelling.
