Kamalika Banerjee is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Indira Gandhi National University, New Delhi, India which is the National Resource Centre for Open and Distance Learning. Kamalika did her postgraduation in Chemistry from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, a PhD from Karnatak University, Dharwad, a B.Ed. from University of Calcutta and a PGDDE from IGNOU.She is scientist, an educationist, an ICT expert and a distance educator.
Kamalika has been teaching in an undergraduate college in West Bengal, India for six years before joining IGNOU where she is serving for the last nine years. She has been an active teacher as well as researcher and has managed projects of DEC, IGNOU as well as IGNOU-Intel projects of RCSE, IGNOU. Apart from this she has guided several students for post-graduate projects and is at present guiding five doctoral students as well. She has published several papers in Chemistry, distance education and science education and actively participates in both national as well as international conferences.

Areas of expertise: Inorganic and Theoretical Chemistry, ICT in Chemistry, science education.

Passion: Kamalika is always innovating new ways to do science as well as the arts. She is an accomplished Indian dancer and singer and is actively pursuing the arts as well.
