Petr Kovarik is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Preschool and Primary Education at the Faculty of Education of Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem. He graduated in the field of teaching for the first stage of primary schools there.
For almost 20 years he has been a teacher at a primary school in Teplice, where he has been teaching mainly science subjects. He tries to apply the knowledge from his practice to the research area of science literacy and the same applies vice versa, when he tries to apply the latest scientific knowledge to his teaching practice in the education of primary school pupils.
His research interest is in the field of science education, mainly on scientific literacy topic. He already published some articles in the journals indexed in SCOPUS and he was active participant at domestic and foreign conferences.
