Institution: Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Istituto di Chimica dei Composti OrganoMetallici (CNR-ICCOM)

Country: Italy

Education and Research Interests:
He received the Master’s Degree in Chemistry at the University of Florence. During almost two years visit in the group of Roald Hoffmann (1981 Nobel Laureate) at Cornell University, he was educated at looking for correlations between structure and properties. Using crystallography and applied theoretical chemistry, he explores the chemistry of small molecules on metal centers, the role of weak interactions in determining the structure, the reactivity and the transformations in organic compounds, metal complexes compounds, coordination polymers and 2D materials. He also studied the solid state behavior of organic molecules such as drugs and dyes in non-ambient conditions and against paper bio-deteriogens. In the last few years, he has dedicated himself to exploring different forms of dissemination of chemistry using traditional approaches such as seminars and laboratory but also through tools such as comics and serious games. Bibliometric parameters: 147 articles, 2 book chapters, 1 patent; h-Index 34, g-Index 60, 4898 citations (Scopus database). Orcid: 0000-0002-2586-4943
