Strategic Vocal Talent Forming Model: A Structured Development Framework Transforming Non-Foundation Students into International Competition Award Recipients

Pathnitharn Sreeiams, Pichasilapha Music School’s Director and Thailand’s National Director, World Championships of Performing Arts (Thailand)

Abstract

This study proposes a structured strategic vocal development model designed to transform students with no formal musical foundation into competitive-level performers capable of achieving awards at international vocal competitions.

The research introduces a three-phase developmental framework: (1) Foundation-Based Vocal System Development, (2) Competitive Structuring and Artistic Positioning, and (3) International Championship Performance Strategy. The model integrates phonetic-based vocal training, systematic breath management, resonance placement calibration, and pitch accuracy stabilization during the foundational stage.

At the intermediate phase, the framework emphasizes vocal identity design, dynamic control, repertoire selection strategy, and emotional storytelling calibrated specifically for competitive environments. The advanced phase incorporates cross-cultural performance adaptation, juror psychology analysis, performance economy optimization, and high-note stability under competitive pressure.

Unlike traditional vocal pedagogy that prioritizes technique alone, this model integrates strategic performance mapping, measurable KPI-based progression, and structured competition simulation. The system aims to provide a replicable talent development pipeline for emerging vocalists in Thailand preparing for international platforms such as World Championships of Performing Arts in USA and European vocal competitions in Italy and Germany.

Preliminary implementation demonstrates improvements in pitch stability, resonance efficiency, and competition-stage adaptability among students without prior formal training. The study suggests that strategic layering of technical, artistic, and competitive intelligence components may significantly increase the probability of international recognition.

This research contributes to the field of applied vocal pedagogy by redefining vocal education as a structured competitive development system rather than solely an artistic training discipline.
