The Future of Education

This article is a comparison of curriculum on bachelor’s degree majoring in Western music of the current conducts in Thailand. The sample is a curriculum on bachelor’s degree majoring in Western music at College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. It is an institution with a long history and improvement at all times and the first educational institution that conducts the study of music in Music Teacher Course. Nowadays, they have 2 bachelor degrees majoring in Western music; Bachelor of Education Program in Western Music Education and Bachelor of Music Program in Western Music.               
The study found that both of curriculum were too different but still have some similar. First, the objective is different. The objective of Bachelor of Education Program in Western Music Education focus on graduates will have the characteristics of being a professional music teacher with moral ethics. Nevertheless, the objective of Bachelor of Music Program in Western Music focus on graduates will be being a professional musician with international standards. Second, the subject of Western Music fundamental is similar because both of curriculum is majoring in Western music so the students should have basic knowledge of Western music in the same. Third, practicum training is different. Students majoring in Western Music Education have 4 practicum training but students majoring in Western Music have 1 practicum training. Fourth, the career can be made after graduates are different. Most of the graduates from Bachelor of Education Program in Western Music Education be music teachers. But, most of the graduates from Bachelor of Music Program in Western Music be the music performer. Last, standardized learning outcomes are different. Bachelor of Education Program in Western Music Education has 7 parts. It emphasizing to students be a good teacher. They can manage their students and can knowledge transfer appropriately. But, Bachelor of Music Program in Western Music has 6 parts. It emphasizing to students be a good musician. They have good knowledge of music. Indeed, both of bachelor’s degree majoring in Western music at College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University are good programs. The students can choose to study by their interest.
