Theoretical Approaches to Interpersonal Communication Competences

Abstract
The competency-based education implies a number of new dimensions, such as: developing dependent problem-solving skills to users, forming an individual experience of solving cognitive or communicative difficulties, accentuating the pursuit of the assumed goals, giving a new sense to the learning process, etc. Competence, in general terms, aims effectiveness and appropriateness, it combines the ability to apply grammatical rules, to formulate expressions, correct sentences and use them appropriately in contexts. Communication competence not only involves the factual use of language, but also anchoring in the communication performance and evaluating it. Competence approach can be related to the concept of pedagogical innovation and involves a multitude of forms of designing and realizing the educational processes. From a didactic point of view, this implies the creation of a coherent vision on communication, structured both theoretically and practically.The theoretical background of the communicative-functional model selects and correlates a number of categories of which the defining are: communication situation, language functions and communication competence. Via these categories, the study aims to address the vast range of interpersonal communication.
