Abstract

A senior generation of university teachers and researchers is still strongly represented at Czech universities. Over the last ten years, generations have been exchanged, but this change didn´t bring many positive changes. What could be the reason for this situation? What influence can be identified for the Silent Generation or the Generation of Baby Boomers  as research bearers in social sciences? The authors present partial research findings, which was implemented as one of the excellent topics of their faculty departement. Through the analysis of in-depth interviews, a significant life span of two researchers, university teachers, one male and one woman are being observed. The results show that current science loses the social dimension and personal relationships are declined between human researchers. It should be noted that the presented study has its limits, especially in relation to the fact that the conclusions can not be generalized. However, the partial findings and discussion can serve as a reason for deeper and more extensive research.
