In Singapore, the majority of the parents want their children to pursue a medical, legal or accounting career, and students prefer business, finance or management courses. The main reason being engineering is one of the most difficult courses and engineering career does not fetch as good remuneration as the other professional careers. The nation is experiencing lack of engineering, technologists and scientists. The “Inspire Me, Start Early” initiative attempts to introduce STEM to students at young age, in a fun and yet effective learning way. Team TBSS had designed and developed a 6-hour STEM targeting pupils between 10 and 12 years old who are reading primary 4 and primary 6 education. The program was conducted twice with a primary school school. The process, findings and experiences will be shared in this presentation.
