effectiveness of the online assessment tools used in teaching-learning of junior high school students of Pacita Complex national high school

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the perception of Pacita Complex National High School teachers on using online assessment tools in teaching and learning junior high schools in the Division of San Pedro. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of online assessment tools in terms of efficacy, content and relevance, accessibility, and extent of utilization. The study sample consisted of 78 teachers who taught online learning modalities. The study results showed that the teachers highly utilized online assessment tools in the teaching-learning process and found them relevant and user-friendly. Additionally, the study found that content and relevance were related to the extent of utilization of online assessment tools, while efficacy, accessibility, and efficiency were not. Based on these findings, the study provided recommendations for school heads and teachers to improve online assessment practices to enhance student learning. This study can be relevant to other educational systems as it highlights the importance of providing relevant training and technical assistance to teachers and utilizing different online assessment tools to suit the learning objectives of the assessment materials.
