Wang Qianyu, Harbin Institute of Technology (China)
Abstract
The first thing first for a research is to do no harm, so does the action research. The aim of doing an action research in classroom is to ensure the maximum learning is gained by students from the teacher’s acting. To achieve this aim, some issues relating to the teaching changes are to be considered beforehand. The paper, from the standpoint of protecting learners’ rights, explores the general premise of doing an action research in classroom, the essence of the research in classroom, students’ rights and contributions in the experiment, criteria of a good action, stages of an action research, possible results of an action research, and measures to regulate the plan if it diverges in the operation for the benefits of students. The paper also distinguishes the terms of reflection-in-action and reflection-on-action, and the status and the origination of teachers and students in the process.
