The VI4IS Project: Virtual Internships for Inclusive Societies

Abstract
Virtual Internships for Inclusive Societies (VI4IS) project improves access of young people (particularly those with fewer opportunities) to internship programs conducted within formal and non-formal education in Europe. Project encompasses series of activities facilitated by youth and for the youth: broad consultation process on country level, assessment of virtual internships, exchange of knowledge and good practices, both country based and transnational (national and EU level, between EU and non-EU countries), piloting new and improving existing virtual internships programmes across Europe. VI4IS Project secures assessment of existing frameworks and practices in virtual internships in different countries across Europe, providing foundation for: a) mapping existing models of conducting virtual internships across the Europe
b) transnational learning, cooperation, exchange of knowledge, successful stories between young people, youth organisations, education institutions (both formal and non-formal), internships providers and decision makers (local, regional, country and EU level) and
c) improving virtual internship practice across the Europe. Project delivers data, policy recommendations, practices and testimonials for youth, youth organisations and public institutions to meaningfully engage in joint efforts to contribute to further development of EU youth policy agenda and practices in area of virtual internships.
Project underpins youth participation in democratic processes & in communities by showcasing commonalities among young Europeans, securing discussion formats all facilitated by and for the youth in order to understand and improve EU foundations and values related to access to education, and articulate the voice of youth in a particular their access to education and later successful enter into the labor market.
